The Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce recently released a spate of ribbon cuttings for new businesses and newly revamped businesses. Among them were Deal Family Farm, Riverbend RV Park and Campground, Roger French Photography, and Splendid Living.

Deal Family Farm

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce joined the Deal family as they celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of their newly renovated farmstand located at 6101 Highlands Road.

DEAL FAMILY FARM

The Deal Family Farm has deep roots in Macon County agriculture, tracing back to 1951 when the farm began with a simple honor bench established by the late grandparents of Joe Deal. Over the decades, the farm grew into a full produce stand. In a tribute to their heritage, the Deal family has renovated Joe’s great-grandparents’ house into the current farmstand, blending history with fresh, local offerings. Today, three generations proudly continue the tradition of farming and serving their community.

Visitors to the farmstand will find a wide variety of seasonal offerings, including cut flowers, tomatoes, peppers, beans, squash, cucumbers, potatoes, sweet corn, sweet potatoes, melons, cabbage, and more. In September, the stand added pumpkins, mums, corn stalks, straw bales, and apples. The farmstand operates Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will remain open until Nov. 1, reopening in April with strawberries, annual flowers, and hanging baskets.

“This farm is part of our family’s history and the community’s story,” said Joe Deal. “We’re proud to continue what my grandparents started and to share fresh, homegrown produce with our neighbors.”

Riverbend RV Park and Campground

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed the new owners of Riverbend RV Park and Campground, Tim and Jodi Moses to the membership.

RIVERBEND RV & CAMPGROUND

The couple purchased Riverbend RV Park and Campground in November 2024. Their first season has been incredibly successful, allowing them to forge friendships that feel like family. Looking ahead, they are thrilled to have a full season planned for 2025 and have already started booking the 2026 season. Tim’s family roots run deep in Franklin back to the late 1700s. Both parents were born and raised right here in the Ellijay township area. Both Tim and Jodi are excited to be active members of the community and are committed to supporting it.

Riverbend RV Park and Campground is nestled along the picturesque Cullasaja River and Ellijay Creek, just 5 miles from Franklin and 12 miles from Highlands off the Highlands Road. Riverbend RV Park is a boutique style campground that offers an intimate experience for its guests. With just 18 premium full-hookup spacious sites featuring 30/50 amp service, septic, water, and concrete patios, each site provides a serene waterfront view surrounded by lush, shaded trees, a picnic table and a fire ring.

“While our park is small, we pride ourselves on offering a wealth of activities to keep our campers engaged. Visitors are invited to join us for cookouts, live bluegrass bands, yoga sessions, cornhole tournaments, fishing contests, chili cook-offs, and festive celebrations. We also rent kayaks to enjoy the beautiful Cullasaja River,” said Moses.

Guests can also enjoy Margarita Fridays from 4 to 6 PM in the clubhouse, and they offer cabin rentals for those looking for a cozy stay. For special occasions, the Moses’ are excited to provide a small venue accommodating up to 60 guests for weddings, anniversaries and celebrations.

“Our season runs from April 1 to Nov. 15, but we offer year-round storage. We can accommodate motor coaches up to 46 feet, and while we focus exclusively on RV camping, we boast a remodeled full bathhouse, a spacious clubhouse and a bark park for our fur baby campers,” said Moses.
