The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 108 delivered 33 boxes of school supplies to the East Franklin Elementary School in Franklin last week. Supplies included a box for each of the 24 classrooms with materials for each student containing crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, #2 pencils, plus teacher supplies of paper towels, Kleenex, antibacterial wipes, and Band- Aids.

Additionally, this year the Auxiliary was able to provide three-ring binders for all students as required in two grade levels, pronged pocket folders in five colors for all students as required for two grade levels, and pencil pouches as required for each student in the remaining two grades, plus a box of supplies for the office. Rita Hall, secretary and bookkeeper at the school facilitated the lists of much needed supplies for local children.

The American Legion Auxiliary in Franklin is hard at work to be able to provide services to veterans and the community. Anyone with a family member of a veteran of the military may be eligible and are welcome to join.
