The Franklin Town Council holds monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m., in the Town Hall board room, 95 East Main Street, Franklin. This month’s meeting was April 7. Tourism Development Authority meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall boardroom, 95 East Main Street, Franklin. The next scheduled meeting will be held April 14. The Council is accepting applications to fill one vacancy for the Tourism Development Authority. The Macon County Board of Commissioners meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., in the Commissioners Board Room on the third floor of the Macon County Courthouse, 5 West Main Street, Franklin. The Macon County Board of Education holds its regular scheduled meeting on the fourth Monday of each month, 6 p.m., in the boardroom of the Macon County Schools Administrative Offices, 1202 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, or at a designated school. The next meeting will be held on Monday, April 28, at Iotla Valley Elementary School. Meetings are live-streamed and can be accessed by visiting www.macon.k12.nc.us.
