Twenty Eight Main Events is a new venue in Franklin that is operated by the same owners of Renee’s Cake Shoppe – Renee and Isidro Vargas. In fact, it is located underneath the bakery, but has a separate front and back entrance.
Previously serving a myriad of purposes, the 2,000-square-foot space required extensive renovation and updating to make it event-worthy, according to Renee. New flooring, paint, and ceilings were added.

The event space has a large-screen television, for showing slides, videos, films, etc., as well as a designated DJ area.

Currently, the space can be rented by the hour or for the day. The space accommodates 80 people. Tables and chairs are included in the rent price, and baked goods, charcuterie boards, tablecloths, and more are options for additional costs. Plus, anyone renting the space can bring their own caterer. Cold storage, sinks, and countertops provide spaces for keeping and serving food during events.
“So far, we’ve had several birthday parties here and some wedding receptions,” said Renee. “And we had a lot of holiday events booked before the new year. We’re excited about having this space available for use by the community.”

In other business news, the Pouring District announced the grand opening of its new business, celebrated with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony (pictured top) hosted by the Franklin Chamber of Commerce.
The Pouring District is the creation of Lori and Jaime Correa, a husband-and-wife duo, who transformed their passion for entertaining, event planning, and crafting cocktails into a one-of-a-kind mobile bar service.
“Our mission is to provide a seamless and elevated bar service, taking care of every detail – from professional bartending and stylish bar setups to premium toss ware and perfectly chilled ice,” said Lori. While guests supply their own alcohol, we work hand-in-hand with event hosts or planners to create signature cocktails, provide expert advice on alcohol selections and quantities, and deliver a truly personalized beverage experience for any occasion.”For more information about The Pouring District, call Lori Correa at (828) 371-9718, or email at [email protected]
