Published in time to be considered as a Christmas gift is the decade-in-the-making “Photographic Memory,” a 148-page, hardbound book showcasing Mark Krancer’s photography of nature, cityscapes, and landscapes. Krancer has contributed photography to Macon Sense and was featured in the Feb. 15, 2024 edition of the newspaper.
The 12″ x 9″ hardbound collection by the photographer includes many never-before-seen images as well as stories from behind the shots.
“This book, much like my photography career, has been a wonderful journey,” said Krancer, who lives in Macon County. “Being able to condense some of my best photos and stories into a reasonable collection for the viewer to enjoy has been exciting and challenging. It can be a challenge, amongst all the various photos I take, to make something that touches on so many aspects of my photography, yet also has a theme. Showing a book of adventure from coast to coast, across continents, and also honoring the local beauty of Western North Carolina, is a lot to make sense of. Fortunately, with the help of a wonderful editing team, I feel we did justice to my collection of photography over the last 10 years in honoring my own creative path. I hope the viewer enjoys [the book] as much as I have enjoyed presenting it to them!”
