In the last few weeks, the Franklin Chamber of Commerce held ribbon cuttings for its new members:
– Scott and Kelly Greene own Roomful of Nuts in the Crystal Falls Plaza on Georgia Road. It has been a staple in Franklin for more than18 years as a source for quality natural foods and supplements, as well as more than 200 bulk food items including nuts, beans, grains, spices, teas and more. The couple became owners in August 2023. They recently changed the name of the store to Health Nuts Market.
– Friends & Family Tax Service, 664 Highlands Road, is owned and operated by Jasmine Schrichten, who has more than 14 years of tax preparation experience. The business specializes in providing comprehensive tax preparation, accounting, and payroll services tailored to meet specific needs.
– The Jeweler’s Workbench, at 38 E. Main Street, where Stewart’s Jewelry Store was once was located, showcases a collection of local artists’ pieces, including a variety of styles, stone types, and materials. The store offers in-house jewelry repair and custom design by a master jeweler. Emily Fletcher is the owner.
– Franklin Nutrition is located at 217 Highlands Road. Owned by Jeff and Michelle Updike, the store offers Herbalife products, including meal replacement protein shakes, whey and casein protein shakes, vegan and plant-based protein shakes, a variety of delicious teas, aloes, iced coffees, and protein snacks, as well as nutritional supplements, sports hydration, and personal care products. Each month and during the holidays, Franklin Nutrition will introduce new flavors of shakes and teas. Also available are hydration drinks for kids.
– PNC Bank is located at 100 W. Main Street in downtown Franklin. PNC offers a wide range of services for all customers, from individuals and small businesses to corporations and government entities. Adam Giles is the PNC Bank Manager.
– Lander Tubular is located at 66 Van Raalte Street in Franklin; one of two Lander Tubular plants in the area. The second plant is in Rabun Gap, Ga. With more than 120,000 square feet of manufacturing space, the two plants serve the off-highway, commercial vehicle, and industrial sectors for tube assemblies for use in EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), cooling, turbo, exhaust, air flow, and fuel transfer applications. Lander Tubular partnered with LBJ Job Corps earlier this year, giving the opportunity to several students to earn money and experience to better their future outside of Job Corps program.
– Franklin Power Sports and Service is located at 113 Bowling Lane. Owner Lisa Holland Hunt explained that she purchased the business and reopened under new ownership in June of 2024. “We are a dealer for Landmaster and Kymco but also carry a selection of preowned inventory including ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and scooters by various manufacturers and can service and provide maintenance for all units,” she said. Franklin Power Sports and Service also stocks helmets, fluids, and filters, and is a Parts Unlimited Dealer.
– Rusted Arrow Market at 19 East Palmer Street recently joined the Chamber. Debbie Ray and her daughters opened the store in August 2019 offering farmhouse decor, everyday decor, shabby chic, antiques, floral, and greenery. “We wanted our shop to be different, something that you as a customer didn’t have to travel far to purchase your items. We wanted to offer items that were reasonably priced that you would love!” said Ray. The shop offers Myra Bags and accessories, Swig Cups, local candles, Keener Family Farm Jellies, Shade Tree Farms products, and Mtn Girl Designs T-shirts and tea towels, Beauty in the South Series Greeting Cards and ornaments and more. The Rusted Arrow Market will be celebrating their five-year anniversary this Nov. 23.
– Walker Quilt Company is located at 27 Macon Center Drive. Six brand-new Handi Quilter machines available for hourly rental. Quilters can reserve time on any of the studio’s machines and add their own unique finishing touches to their projects. Each machine is equipped with Pro-Stitcher, allowing for computerized quilting, providing both beginners and experienced quilters with options for creative or precision-driven designs.
