Veterans presented with Quilts of Valor

At the annual Warriors Walk, hosted by 828Vets, service members and veterans were honored with a Quilt of Valor.

Receiving the handmade quilts were Jason Watkins, Richard Pilifant, Terry Land, and David Latner.

The group of quilters, affiliated with the Smoky Mountain Quilters Guild, organized in 2008, has awarded 1,726 Quilts of Valor to local veterans. Any veteran can apply for a quilt by filling out a form on the national website www.QOVF.org.
