The Macon County Board of Commissioners meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners boardroom on the third floor of the Macon County Courthouse, 5 West Main Street. A Special Meeting will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m., for newly elected officials to take the oath of office and to choose a chair and vice-chairman. The Macon County Board of Education will administer the Oath of Office to re-elected board members on Monday, Dec. 2, at 8:30 a.m. in the boardroom of the Macon County Schools Administrative Offices. Immediately following, a Special Called Meeting will be held to discuss the roles and responsibilities of board members and to elect a board chair, vice-chair, and more. The Macon County Board of Education holds a regular scheduled meeting on the fourth Monday of each month, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Board Room of the Macon County Schools Administrative Offices, located at 1202 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, or at a designated school.
