The Town Council of Franklin holds monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m., in the Town Hall board room, 95 East Main Street, Franklin. Additionally, the Town of Franklin released new operating hours for the Town Hall office hours. The new hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Payment window hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 5:25 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 2:55 p.m.
The Macon County Board of Commissioners holds one regular meeting a month on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Meetings are held in the Commissioners Board Room on the third floor of the Macon County Courthouse, 5 West Main Street, Franklin. The Macon County Board of Education holds a regular scheduled meeting on the fourth Monday of each month, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Board Room of the Macon County Schools Administrative Offices, located at 1202 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, or at a designated school. However, the October meeting will be held on the second Monday, October 14, and the location is South Macon Elementary. Tourism Development Association meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall board room, 95 East Main Street, Franklin. The next scheduled meeting is October 14. Also, TDA for the Town of Franklin has hosted a series of tourism stakeholder meetings for organizations that participate in the town’s tourism economy. The last of these meetings will be held at the Chamber of Commerce, 98 Hyatt Rd., in its upstairs classroom, at 7:30 a.m., Sept. 27. This meeting focuses on realtors and others who are helping visitors relocate to Franklin. (Editor’s Note: Because of the threat from Hurricane Helene and ongoing construction at the Chamber of Commerce, this last stakeholder meeting has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.)
