On behalf of our downtown merchants’ association, The Streets of Franklin, our members would like to thank the Tourism Development Council (TDC) of Macon County, The Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Town of Franklin and its Tourism Development Authority (TDA) for their support of our successful Christmas in July event.
As an organization, our focus is to encourage economic development and tourism while growing local small businesses. This year, because there are so many great events taking place in Franklin, we felt strongly that our own events should also promote and build upon other corresponding events that help make Franklin so great and vibrant. The Christmas in July was a wonderful example of that.
Like so many organizations working for our hometown, we could not be successful without the support of TDC, Macon County, Chamber of Commerce, Town of Franklin, and TDA. Without them, we could not have afforded the advertising that promoted our Christmas in July event, along with the Farmers Markets, Phillips St. Market, Pickin’ on the Square, and ’80s Flashback Weekend Pageant all at once. Thank you, again.
Finally, we would be remiss if we didn’t thank the ’80s Flashback Weekend team, including its founder Dave Linn and board president Tracy Griffith, for putting together such an incredible event. It was such a great draw for business and tourism, and it was also a blast. Again, thanks to all the individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and government organizations that sponsored and partnered with them to make their 10th anniversary so special for Franklin.
Working together, we are doing some very special things in our hometown.
