It was always on his [a friend] executive desk: a printed, numbered note pad that listed all the things he needed to do. His said, “Things to Remember: 1. The Alamo.” That’s all.
He was born, raised, and educated in the Lone Star State, a native son. His public education came with a classroom prayer to God, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the history of the United States, especially Texas – and he never forgot.
For those of you who may have forgotten our American history, here’s a little summarized refresher course:
On March 6, 1836, the Mexican Army marched into San Antonio, Texas, to the Alamo. They were hell-bent on killing all who occupied the Roman Catholic Mission, known formally as the San Antonia De Valero, a Spanish Mission, one of the first in Texas dating back to the 1700s. The small band of heroes, including James Bowie, Davy Crocket (coonskin hat and all), William Travis, locals, indigenous people, and a few soldiers fought valiantly for days hoping for back-up from the U.S. Army, but to no avail. They fought to the death; 189 souls gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom from tyranny. Those brave men held off a 5,000-man Mexican Army for three days and all perished.
General Santa Anna, the Mexican Army Commander, ordered the song “El Deguello” to be played at the start of the Battle of the Alamo. The song, translated, means “throat cutting.” He used this particular tune to “gin up his base” as politicians call it today. Santa Anna’s choice for a battle hymn was to encourage the killing, the slaughter, the massacre of the Texans with much zeal.
After the battle, he ordered the bodies of all to be burned in three different piles right there on the grounds of the Alamo. His so-called “victory” only lasted a short time, and you know the rest of history.
Today, 188 years later, we have Santa Anna’s descendants hell-bent on taking Texas and its border neighbors, as well as the entire United States, by storm. They have an inside strategy: The White House!
The Mexican President, savage drug cartels, and a proven, plagiaristic, incompetent President are bankrupting our country. Murder and mayhem abound with no respect for our laws. By the perverted use of innocent children as cover, criminals find passage under the cartels and NGOs.
Mixed into the masses are terrorists! The border is NOT secure! No matter what you call them, they are ILLEGAL!
As a Texan, I ask you to join me in telling Congress this message: “If you have a collective pair of cajónes, demand the border be closed.” Cut off all funds to Mexico, all commerce, wire transfers, welfare, food stamps, healthcare, housing, hiring, cell phones, and cash cards.
Offer to BUY Mexico. It will be cheaper in the long run. Most importantly: REMEMBER THE ALAMO!
God Bless All Y’all.
