“The Art of Marriage” Conference is being offered in the Franklin area this Saturday. Sponsored by local nonprofit Heart for Families, “The Art of Marriage” is an all-day marriage conference taking place Oct. 14, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cowee Baptist Church, just six miles north of Franklin on Bryson City Road.
Family Life’s “The Art of Marriage,” curriculum includes six sessions and focuses on the “challenges and beauty of God’s design for marriage.” Contributors in a short video presentation share expert teaching, real-life stories, humorous vignettes, and more. Couples will then have an opportunity to fellowship and participate in independent discussion. Sessions will be facilitated by local licensed clinical mental health counselor Diedre Breeden and her husband, Barry. The couple are leaders of Heart for Families.
“We just have a passion for investing in marriages, given our own testimony with how God saved our marriage,” said Diedre. “We always say, if one marriage is impacted positively, it’s all worth it.”
Founded in 2014, Heart for Families involves a local group of pastors and lay leaders passionate to see the hope and healing of marriages and families through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since 2015, Heart for Families has organized more than 20 large-scale trainings and events in the Franklin area.
